My occupation is a statistician. I tell people it is like "CSI without dead bodies" because analyzing a set of data that has been collected is like doing an autopsy on a deceased person in the sense that I'm trying to learn what I can from what statistics and information are available. Except in this case the information does not involve gross things. For me the research process can be humorous, scary, but always captivating.
I've been busy with teaching and working. There have been lots of things to blog about but a lot of these things, ISIS, health care, the election, and immigration are things I've written about before. I haven't written as much on topics related to Ferguson, Missouri and racism. I missed PodCamp this year because I was so busy. I will to be back now that the semester is ending. Those of you who follow the blog on Facebook and Twitter may have noticed me posting about my friend David Roberts who passed away from Brain Cancer and his family is now raising money to cover medical debts. Happy Holidays to all! I leave you all with a video of my recent trip to Maine of the oldest lighthouse in the US.
As Black Friday is now past and Cyber Monday is tomorrow. Right now I am busy with school and am unable to do large posts on this blog. I will repost things on the Facebook page and may do small posts if they are relevant to what is going on in the world. Now that the anniversary of the Kennedy assassination is past, I'm sure there will continue to be stories on the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) as well as the anniversary if the Newtown shooting. Who knows (if you're religious you could say God knows) what else will come up? I do have links to amazon products that are relevant to previous posts that you are welcome to consider for your special one this holiday season. Happy Holidays to all. Buon Natale a` tutti.
